Seguir soñando hasta que tus sueños se hacen realidad - Keep dreaming until your dreams come true

Mi nombre es Fernando Domínguez, pero todos me conocen como Ferdi. Soy un amante y practicante de los diferentes deportes como el fútbol, el baloncesto, el atletismo, el fútbol-sala y el padel.

Respecto al voleibol siempre me había pensado que era un deporte para personas con cierta altura. Y me fascinaba verles saltar a una increíble altura para poder atacar poderosamente e impedir que el balón sea recibido por el equipo contrario y también verles como se tiraban al suelo ágilmente y con una rapidez impresionante para salvar al balón del suelo. Por ello, decline la idea de poder ser un jugador, por pensar que no cumplía los requeridos requisitos físicos debido a mi humilde estatura que mido como la mayoría de los españoles.

Hasta que, hace un año, me topé con la oportunidad de probarlo, tras convencerme entre conversaciones con amigos que se decían que la escuela de voleibol de Madrid organizada por la Federación Madrileña de Deportes para Sordos resultaba ser muy divertida y bastante profesional, pues participaban en la liga municipal de Madrid. Y eran un equipo mixto, formado por jugadores chicos y chicas.

Probé en ir a entrenar un día al pabellón de Valdebernardo y allí conocí a la entrenadora Lucile y a todos los compañeros, fueron muy amables y cordiales que me recibieron como uno más. Tiempo a tiempo empecé a coger el gusto por este deporte, y así fue, ¡Cómo cambió mi percepción respecto al Voleibol! Me di cuenta de que este deporte lo podían practicar todos, independientemente de sus condiciones físicas.

Y disfruté muchísimo del deporte, y aprendí todo lo que pude y aún me queda muchísimo por aprender. Qué ignorante fui al pensar que no tenía su juego, es decir, sus técnicas, posiciones y estrategias, y que también había que jugar con inteligencia.

Lo mejor de todo es que no solo se basaba en jugar y practicar el deporte, sino también me hice nuevos amigos, con los que compartimos viajes, encuentros, comidas y cenas, regalos, etc. Y con ellos conocí el lado humano y solidario, nos apoyamos y animamos en momentos de crisis, cuando vamos perdiendo o cuando no nos sale bien un pase o una recepción o incluso en un ataque y no solo nos apoyamos en el campo sino también fuera de la pista.

¡Os advierto que es un deporte muy divertido! Os ánimo a probarla y os aseguro de que no os vais a arrepentir.

Para mí, hasta ahora, es el mejor deporte que he practicado.

My name is Fernando Domínguez, but everyone knows me as Ferdi. I am a lover and practicing of different sports such as football, basketball, athletics, futsal and paddle tennis.

In relation to volleyball I had always thought that it was a sport for people with a certain height. And I was fascinated to see them jump at an incredible height to be able to attack powerfully and prevent the ball from being received by the opposing team and also see them as they were thrown to the ground nimbly and with an impressive speed to save the ball from the ground. Therefore, I decline the idea of ​​being a player, for thinking that I did not meet the required physical requirements because of my humble stature that I measure like most Spaniards.

Until, a year ago, I came across the opportunity to prove it, after convincing myself between conversations with friends who said that the volleyball school of Madrid organized by the Madrid Federation of Sports for the Deaf was very fun and quite professional, as they participated in the municipal league of Madrid. And they were a mixed team, made up of boys and girls.

I tried to go to train one day to the pavilion of Valdebernardo and there I met the coach Lucile and all the teammates, they were very kind and cordial that received me like one more. Time in time I started to take pleasure in this sport, and that was how it changed my perception of Volleyball! I realized that this sport could be practiced by everyone, regardless of their physical condition.

And I really enjoyed the sport, and I learned everything I could and I still have a lot to learn. How ignorant I was to think that I did not have his game, that is, his techniques, positions and strategies, and that also had to play with intelligence.

The best thing of all is that it was not only based on playing and practicing the sport, but also made new friends, with whom we share trips, meetings, meals and dinners, gifts, etc. And with them I knew the human side and solidarity, we support and encourage in times of crisis, when we lose or when we do not do well a pass or a reception or even an attack and not only support us in the field but also outside track.

I advise you that it is a very fun sport! I encourage you to try it and I assure you that you will not regret it.

For me, so far, it's the best sport I've ever practiced.
